Set in a beautifully restored two-storey shop-house in the heart of Club Street, da paolo il ristorante offers an informal, but smartly casual setting for an elegant meal. Diners may choose to dine on the ground floor looking out into the picturesque history of Club Street and watch the world go by. Alternatively, the second floor is a quiet haven of white washed walls, starched table-cloths and filtered sunlight streaming through the tall windows.
As always, the pasta is freshly home-made each morning. The squid ink spaghetti, looped with the lightest of olive oil and garlic, is a house-favourite as is the salt-scented vongole tossed with a light wine sauce. For desserts, few can pass up the tiramisu, but do check with the wait-staff for daily specials.
