Tucked away in a quiet nook on 10 Winstedt Road not far from Newton Circus, District 10 is the latest brainchild of The Bonta Group.
Located at the premise of the former Monk's Hill Secondary School, District 10 sits on a historical plot of land. The school officially closed in November 2006, after 48 years of providing education to the youths in Singapore. Prior to that, the property was a Chinese monastery and the name Monk's Hill serves as a remembrance of its heritage.
With the aim of embracing nature as part of its design appeal, District 10 has leveraged on the natural features to create unique centrepieces. Indoors, a six-metre long tree trunk is transformed into a bar top table. At the alfresco area, an octagonal standalone bar is built around a 50 years old Pong Pong tree, encompassing a water feature.
The all day dining menu also features a wide selection of cakes, desserts and homemade ice creams that will appeal to high-tea goers. In the evening, get ready to be engulfed by the beautiful surroundings while enjoying dinner. The bistro also carries a comprehensive beverage list of self-imported wines, and beers by the bottle and by the draught. To encourage the European culture of pairing wines with casual dining, a five-tiered wine pricing system with a reasonable price range of $39, $49, $59, $79 and $99 for a bottle of wine.
