We'd been wanting to try out iggy's forever, thankfully despite the high expectations from Singapore's best, Asia's 4th and the world's 60th restaurant, I wasnt disappointed.
We have a few pictures from my meal here if you were interested, but it wasnt intended to be a food review.
We cant comment if the meal was worth its price tag, but it was a truly awesome gastronomical experience..
We'll be back to write more if time allows, but for now here is my take on their dessert,
an interesting platter of Chocolate Cylinder, French Toast, home-made maple ice-cream and iced mocca
1) Who would have thought french toast could be dessert?
I think the biggest attractiveness of degustations/fancy restaurants is the chef's ability to recreate food and bring to the table something different. Creativity and the chef's mastery of his skills were evident in each course at Iggy's.
2) Each of the 4 desserts had a taste unique to itself. I could be naively wrong on this, but I think at most places, desserts have accompaniments that complement it. For instance vanilla icecream works beautifully with brownies/ warm chocolate cake. or raspberry sorbet comes with citrus fruit.
This very cute selection of dessert was always exciting, it constantly teases your tastebuds. the tastes dont clash but they dont complement either. If I were to sum it up in a word I'd pick 'interesting'.
I think Iggy's is definitely worth a go, even if only for lunch which is slightly more budget friendly.
